If I could give some wise advice on this matter I would start by saying: I also have sleeping problems, mainly stemming from long work hours and stresses of as you said, the past and the future, that keep your mind racing. If I may recommend a method that works for me: when you lie down to sleep, try to focus your thoughts soloed on sleep, trying to relax, and your breathing, focus especially on your breathing. Then try to relax every part of your body, and at that point it might be alot easier for your to put your mind at ease and finally get some rest. Granted this doesn’t always work, but from time to time it helps me fall asleep.I have learned lately that the following is true:
- I never sleep anymore.
- Not sleeping leaves far too much time to think.
- Given time to think, my mind races either about the future or certain parts of the past.
- Thinking about the future leads to stress, which ultimately keeps me even more…
