Don’t judge
if there’s one thing that life has taught me, it’s this.
Especially recently.
I have noticed that in the past year, many people I know have judged me, and many others for the jobs we work. Whether it is a general “why the fuck would they work this job, and not go for something else (what they think is better)” or ” how could they possibly what to do this job, don’t they feel like an asshole”?
Well to those people I will say this:
You can’t sit there and assume you know what another persons life is like working the job they do. It’s not fair to them, or anyone else in their field for that matter. You assume that, oh because they work this job, then they must feel this way, or rather, you feel that you like them less because of what they do. In reality, you probably have no idea what they ACTUALLY do.
For example, people think my job is calling people, being a dick to them, and making their lives miserable. Well I have some news for you guys, I don’t EVER do that, a big aspect of my job is being a negotiator, and let me jut say, that shit ain’t east, ever.
Not only that, but there about a million other things I do, that people just don’t seem to care about, or even acknowledge, they only see the worst about what they hear about my field, and they do the same thing for others i know.
Plenty of my friends work very different jobs then I do, and yet those people are still judged. And it isn’t right.
People chose to work at the jobs they do either because they are strapped for cash, can’t find anything else, or genuinely want to work where they work.
No one has the right to place judgement on a person because of what they do for a living, simply because there minds think “oh I’ve heard x y and z about this career so they gotta be shitty people because that’s where they work”
I don’t judge anyone based on what their career choices are, in fact, I support them, no matter what the decision is or how dumb and stupid I think their choices are, because I understand, that while I have preconceived notions about their career choices, I chose not to judge them based on those choices, instead I support them and wish them the best of luck in their fields.
Basically what I am getting at, is don’t fucking judge a book by it’s cover.
